MASS IN THE GRASS III AND
DURAND HAS TALENT SHOW

Where can I begin to say thank-you? First, thank you Fr. J and the Liturgy Commission, a great idea has turned into an annual event. There are now so many ministries from our parish involved in the festivities. The Altar Society, Knights of Columbus, and The Lazarus Committee all contribute a huge part in making this a success. Many people just show up to help! I cannot tell you all the names. You know who you are and I appreciate all you did. We could not have done it without you! A big thank you to Jim Tucker at Dutch Hollow for loaning us the golf carts. The biggest thanks goes to everyone who participated. Despite the weather, we had nearly 400 people attend. Great liturgy...great food....great fun...and another beautiful day at St. Mary.

"DURAND'S GOT TALENT 2009"

A big thank you to all the contestants who performed at our first Annual "Durand's Got Talent" show.
It was so awesome to hear and watch some great talent within our own Church Community. Good job to all!!

Marian Towsley - Violin performing "Over the rainbow" and Fiddle" - Accompanied by Sandy Bensinger and Paul Williamson

Eliza Guernsey - Highland Dances - "Highland Fling" and "The Sword Dance"

Emily Smith - Singing solo - sang "Danny Boy" Acapella

B. J. Krembs - Bassoon solo - Performed "Romanze"

Anna Folsom - Singing solo - Performed "Let's hear it for the boys" karaoke style

Dan McKay - Drum solo - Performed his own original drum solo

Addyson & Torin Ives - Dancing duo - Danced to "Hip Hop Ballerinas"

Derek & Sandy Bensinger - Piano & Flute duet - Performed "Canon in D" and "Fairytale"

Thanks to the judges, Fr J, Deacon Greg, Pat and Marla whose job was not an easy one as all the acts were great!!

Congratulations to the 1st place winners who tied, Eliza Guernsey and Dan Mckay, 2nd place Derek & Sandy Bensinger, 3rd place Emily Smith.

We hope to have another Talent show next year with more great acts, so stay tuned.
